Emily, an Arizona native, started her healthcare career over 15 years ago. She began her career working in the Emergency Department and Trauma Centers, while she obtained her RN degree. After working on many mass casualty incident preparation drills and research projects in the emergency room, she became interested in furthering her education and went on to earn her Master’s Degree as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner through Grand Canyon University. While in school, she was injured in an ATV accident which sparked her interest in interventional pain management. While working as a provider, she continued her pursuit in education, earning a Doctoral Degree in Nursing Practice from Grand Canyon University. She now also works as a Professor in academia, educating nurses at the master’s level, who are also pursuing degrees as practitioners. She admits that she began as a provider in Pain Management to offer patients the same care and treatment that helped her during her recovering. While not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. Emily can often be found submerged in a good novel or doing yoga to remain active.
